Home Schooled Scouts - Begins Friday Sept. 19th

We have officially organized a Homeschool Cub Scout group. We will meet on the first Thursday of every month from 1-4pm (some activities may be shorter...) We will work on awards and badges that are not part of the core advancement requirements.

Each family who participates will take a turn hosting the meeting. They will decide what awards we work on that day.

We will be handing out registration forms at the first meeting. For boys who are already enrolled in a pack elsewhere, it is free to dual enroll. If you are not already affiliated with another pack, it is $10.

We have had lots of questions about Tiger Cubs. We would like to encourage you to join the Tiger Cubs with Pack 1. To learn about Pack #1, contact Gillian at: homeschool@dgwhitney.com or (435) 213-7585.

If there is enough interest in creating a Homeschool Tiger Cubs group, we can look into that. Come to the first activity and we will talk. The same holds true for Boy Scouts: if there is enough interest we can start a Boy Scout/Varsity unit or simply arrange occasional Merit Badge classes.

We have started a separate Yahoo group to discuss Homeschool Scout issues. Go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Scouts_CVHS. You will have to sign in to Yahoo groups (since you are a member of this group, you should have an ID and password), and request to join.

Since we have already missed the first Thursday of this month, in September will meet on: Friday, September 19 from 1-4. At this meeting, we will be working on the Leave No Trace award, including a Conservation project and hike. More details to follow.
